Rob collaborated with Don during
National School Breakfast Week to host a “parents eat free breakfast with
their students” event, televised on Fox 5 morning news
·
Rob is working on a new system for
principals to authorize Free and Reduced Students vs. having parents complete
forms as a result of conversations with James – hope to implement by
September
·
Rob met with a food focus group of
students and faculty at Browne EC as a result of Andre’s suggestion to meet
with one particular student – Quentin Turner. As a result of Quentin’s desire
to change the world, OFNS has provided Browne with an ice machine and is
connecting with him to improve student satisfaction as he is now a Student
Food Ambassador.
·
Rob and Carla are working on the
team stakeholder project for Fitz
·
Rob and Fonda have been spending a
good bit of time responding to food service information requests from Council
as well as visiting together
·
Rob had DC Central Kitchen host
their main student event at Drew ES (Na’imah) for Strawberries and Salad
Greens Day to include tastings and activities such as grow your own
strawberry plant (kids could take them home) and bringing the truck farm on
site (it’s a farm growing in the back of a pickup truck….yes….really).

·
Sandy Watson worked with us as we
looked at RTI Guide language around when RTI “ends” with both Gen Ed students
and students referred to/screened into Special Ed
·
Chrisanne LaHue, myself and my RTI
Team looked at her RTI Tiers language that she was presenting to
9th Grade Academy trainees
·
My Policy and Compliance Team is
working with Fonda to finalize “Clarifications to DCMR Chapter 25 Discipline”
code and be on same page about internal DCPS and external sign off
on this guidance
·
Doug came to me about a sensitive
staff issue with one of my team (who is now transitioning to
another DCPS position through his team), and Doug’s heads up helped
my team prep for the change much earlier and better than if we’d waited to
hear from the staff person (Doug handled it beautifully, he let the staff
person know up front he’d be talking to me about it)
·
Na’imah and I have sought each
other’s counsel several times on elementary school behavior and parent
engagement issues
·
Rachel is engaging Jessica, myself
and a few other cohort members around how to talk to her school staff about
race and equity in the school setting
·
Our Mid-residency team is taking
on 3 challenging, systemic behavior issues and already taking next
steps to further unpack and propose solutions to various Central Office
stakeholders

improving elementary social studies, this plan will be shared with Katie,

potential social studies teachers with Rachel, Andre to help with filling
vacancies
·
Na’imah working with local childcare
center (Rob), to incentivize parents coming to the school for back to school
night
·
Scott, Kennard, and Rob coming
together for International Food Day at Garfield Elementary
·
Mireille and Rob connecting about
Moten’s kitchen being in the red, they were able to clean up the kitchen and
fix the issues

institutes for the BLISS and SCALE programs
